ACRYGEL

INFORMATION AND APPLICATION

Acrygel is an acrylic/gel hybrid system which cures under LED light. Due to its putty like consistency which does not cure in the air, this system is great for acrylic techs wanting to convert, beginners or technicians who struggle to create structure using a gel product.

PERFECT POLY | Acrygel
• HEMA free • 120 sec cure • Odour free •

PERFECT POLY is an acrygel that is currently available in tubs or tubes in 5 shades (Ice baby, Coconut, Rosé, Sweet peach & Pink fizz).

You can use PERFECT POLY on top of natural nails for an overlay, with traditional tip and form extensions and also with our FULL ON TIPS system.

To apply PERFECT POLY you need to apply a base coat first. We would recommend GET A GRIP or you can use RUBBER UP for more problematic nails.

PERFECT POLY LIQUID | Slip Solution

This is a slip solution used along with PERFECT POLY. You will need to dip your ACRYGEL BRUSH into the slip solution to mould the PERFECT POLY into position. Whenever your brush starts to stick to the product you will need to re-dip it back into the solution.

Use alongside with the MAGPIE DAPPEN DISH.

There are 2 ACRYGEL brushes that you can choose from (Brush 1 & Brush 2).

Both brushes have a spatula at one end to help get your product out of the tube or pot and to apply it onto the nail.

The other end of the brush is used along with the slip solution to mould the PERFECT POLY into shape.

NATURAL NAIL PREP | HAND PLACEMENT | PPE

PERFECT PREP IS VITAL to a long-lasting manicure, if there are any specs of dust, oil or dead skin left on the nail no matter how small, the product will start to lift.

You must always LEAVE A 1MM GAP around the cuticle and side walls free of product - if nails have any bleeding of product, this will make nails lift.

You need to lightly CAP THE FREE EDGE COMPLETELY on every gel application layer to prevent chipping.

Also pay attention to HAND PLACEMENT in the lamp making sure clients fingers are positioned correctly - ensure the thumb is pointing up towards lamp or cure separate if clients can't do this.

AVOID DIRECT SKIN CONTACT - this includes top/base gels, gel colours, primers and acrylic monomer/polymer, acrygel and hard gel. Repetitive contact with nail products may cause overexposure which can build up slowly over time, putting your own and your clients' health at risk.

As a nail technician, your exposure to products is much greater than your clients. You should wear NITRILE GLOVES to protect your hands and a DUST MASK to prevent inhalation of dusts.

MAGPIE UV LED LAMP should be used to ensure our products are fully and safely cured. Other branded lamps may cure our products, however we cannot guarantee any other lamps effectiveness with Magpie products.

NATURAL NAIL PREP

CUTICLE WORK | ETCH | PREP & DEHDRATE

The main thing that is ESSENTIAL to product longevity is dry natural nail prep. Ensure you REMOVE ALL NON-LIVING TISSUE from the cuticle area and nail plate prior to any product application.

High quality sharp tools must be used to ensure a perfect prep. We have a wide range of ROYAL TOOLS available to suit different nail prep requirements here.

Once full cuticle prep has been completed, lightly etch the nail plate with a fresh 240 grit ZEBRA FILE (not a buffer). Using a harsher grit than 180 will cause unnecessary damage to the nail plate.

Finally, use MAGPIE PREP & DEHYDRATE liquid prior to product application (not acetone or any other liquids). Thoroughly scrub the side walls and under the free edge with prep liquid too.

The Magpie system has been tested to work in perfect unison - you must be using the COMPLETE MAGPIE SYSTEM (liquids, lamp & gels) if you do not, this may lead to service breakdown.

ACRYGEL APPLICATION

PERFECT POLY | OVERLAY

COMPLETE THOROUGH DRY NAIL PREP - push back and lift up cuticle from nail plate, remove all non-living tissue with a sharp cuticle tool and nippers. Shape the free edge into the desired shape using a 240 grit zebra file. Use that same file (not a buffer) to lightly etch the surface to remove shine. Apply a generous amount of Magpie PREP & DEHYDRATE liquid to a lint free wipe - scrub the nail plate, side walls and underneath the free edge thoroughly. Apply chosen BASE GEL (leave a 1mm gap around sidewalls/cuticle area) cap free edge completely, and cure in Magpie's lamp.

Using the spatula end of your POLY BRUSH decant a small bead of ACRYGEL onto the nail using a rolling motion. Wait for the bead of poly to settle and go pearly, which looks glossy, round and firm. Place the poly brush end into the ACRYGEL LIQUID, blot off your brush on your absorbent pad and start patting and pushing the bead lightly over the nail. Cure this bead for 120 secs. Note: if the overlay is only on a short natural nail then you can apply this overlay in just one bead however for a longer overlay please use two beads curing fully in between to ensure full correct cure.

ACRYGEL APPLICATION

MINIMISING HEAT SPIKES | INFILLS

To MINIMISE HEAT SPIKES for your client, make sure you are curing using small beads, working thin and flash curing the Perfect Poly to begin with. For the first ten seconds, press the button on your magpie lamp after two seconds of curing and allow to cool for ten, then repeat. For clients who have sensitive nail plates we recommend flash curing at the edge of the lamp for a cooler cure. Then you must always fully cure Perfect Poly using the 90 second button (low heat mode) in the Magpie Lamp twice.

Once cured remove the inhibition layer with Magpie CLEANSER and follow filing routine. Once filing is complete, dust off the nail and use Magpie gel colour or your favourite Magpie topcoat to finish. Cure for 60 seconds. Apply CUTICLE OIL.

INFILL
MAINTENANCE STEPS
• Reccomended every 3-4 weeks
  • Debulk enchantment structure and remove length. Check for any lifting or damage around the edges or sidewalls of the overlay. You must NEVER leave behind any lifted areas and apply product over the top, this can cause bacterial infections to occur.
  • Use the cuticle tool to remove any non-living tissue and your Magpie 240 grit zebra file to remove the surface shine from the new natural nail plate growth area. Remove surface dust, and scrub the new nail growth with Prep & Dehydrate on a lint free pad.
  • Apply your chosen base layer to the new nail growth and the rest of the nail surface and cure for 60 seconds.
  • Follow application steps on previous page. Focus on applying more product in to the cuticle/ apex area to rebuild your structure. Repeat this step until the nails are structurally sound.
  • Carefully remove the inhibition layer with Magpie Prep and Dehydrate on a lint free wipe by pulling down from cuticle to free edge. Repeat the usual filing routine to finish and refine the nails. Finish with your chosen Magpie gel colour etc, top coat and cuticle oil
